Everything about The Groves was perfect. Emily, my host, was friendly and helpful - I arrived at 11.30 pm and was met in person. The bed was so comfortable that I almost overslept, and breakfast was top quality: "proper" bread, fresh croissants etc. Above all, the room was exceptionally clean. “Really good, peaceful and well stocked for my needs thankyou.”

I found a great little gem. I needed a one‑night stopover for work and discovered this place. Communication with the owner was quick and easy; I had to rearrange my arrival time, and they were accommodating and agreeable. They greeted me on arrival, met me with Jonathan, a lovely guy, and chatted before showing me around. I then treated myself to a welcome cup of tea from the refreshments tray – good kettle and fresh filtered water in the fridge too. I slept well, showered very well, and was away. If I have to come back this way, I’ll be hoping they have a vacancy!

Even though it’s on a busy road, the location is nice, close to a useful bus stop so you don’t need a car, and there’s a lovely friendly pub nearby. We liked everything and had no dislikes.

“Comfortable stay”

The place matches the description exactly. It’s not huge but the thoughtful design makes it manageable. The bed was comfortable, bedding was fine, and the towels were very good. In the small space, having two chairs, a table, a fridge, and a microwave were all bonuses, even though there are a couple of take‑aways nearby and it’s only a twenty‑minute walk to the town centre. A kettle, a tray with mugs, coffee and tea, and some biscuits were also provided, and I was impressed that decaf coffee was available. Parking is right outside the door. The host was available when contacted but otherwise kept to themselves. It was a very comfortable overnight stay with very thoughtful hosts.

“Ideal room in Deal”

We were heading to The Farriers Arms for a 60th birthday, just a 2‑minute walk away. We were woken at 2 am by a car leaving the premises on the pebble driveway.
