“Clean, spacious, charming property, but attention to detail could be improved”

The room was very spacious, clean and comfortable, and the property had the charm of a traditional French farmhouse; the hosts were polite and welcoming, and we appreciated that breakfast was prepared at the early time we requested (6:30 am). The bathroom was spacious and the overall stay was quiet. However, the main photo on Booking is taken from a different side of the property, so on arrival it wasn’t immediately obvious we were in the right place. The room was very warm when we arrived during a hot day and, although there is no air conditioning (as stated in the listing), there wasn’t even a fan available. Some maintenance details could be improved: the bathroom blind had broken the previous day and wasn’t fixed until we mentioned it, and the bathroom door didn’t close properly. Breakfast was good but rather modest, and because it was prepared before we arrived there was no opportunity to ask for small extras (for example, butter one morning or an additional coffee capsule). The location is peaceful but very isolated, with no nearby restaurants or services, so it’s worth planning dinner in advance. Overall, the property has character and is well kept, but we felt that a little more attention to detail and guest experience would make a noticeable difference.

“Peace and quiet in rural France with delightfully restored spacious historic accommodation and truly lovely hosts.”

We were greeted by Anne, her husband, and a shaggy guard dog that immediately felt like part of the family. The property offered complete peace and tranquility, with a suite of rooms, a breakfast room, and mature grounds. The traditional French breakfast was generous and tasty, featuring farm‑made goat cheese and apple juice, which we bought to take home. Since we were attending a nearby historic car gathering, the ample secure off‑road parking was very convenient. Highly recommend. Nothing was lacking; everything suited us perfectly.

The old manor was stunning. The family set up a large table on the back terrace by the park, letting us soak up the evening sun.
