The location was the best part of the stay, but the reception felt underwhelming. In the lobby and the hallway, the scent of both (lovely) dogs was obvious, far from the fresh smell one would expect. After being shown the two rooms, it was immediately clear they were not clean; spider webs hung in several places, the window frames and furniture were heavily dusty, and the blanket (no comforter) showed long dark hairs from previous guests. When we went to the garden for a drink, the host set four glasses down that we didn't use because they were too dirty to put a drink in. We pointed this out to the host. About 3 m from the garden table lay a dried rat skeleton, and everywhere on the premises and parking area were dog droppings. The first half hour of our stay set the tone for the whole visit. Breakfast was adequate, but there was only cheese and jam to choose from.

“Lieu magnifique et hôte très accueillante”

The place and the host’s welcome were good, and breakfast was fine. The room, however, was very damp and cold, and the bedding and bath towels felt a bit old.
