At $350 a night this homestay is the best bang‑for‑buck I’ve seen, with a panoramic view of Cangshan and Erhai, a heated sea‑view pool, a big tub, smart toilet and a minibar. The staff were super friendly, always ready to help, and the breakfast, afternoon and evening teas were top‑notch, while the management ran everything smoothly. Only minor downside: a few scratches on the bathroom wall that could use a fresh coat of paint, and the fact that they refuse tips, which felt a bit awkward 😅.

“Probably the best stay you can find in Dali”

This tiny six‑room hotel feels like a personal retreat in the middle of a busy town, with warm staff, a breakfast that could rival a café, and afternoon tea that’s almost a highlight. We booked the full‑screen sea‑view room, and my 4‑year‑old was so hooked she didn’t want to leave; the pool is basic but kept spotless, the cleaning crew was spot‑on—mopping daily and even sorting our shoes by size—and the staff were quick to share local tips.
