Prairie winds motel

The owner was very attentive, and the cleaning was good, but the facilities are old; the beds are comfortable and the place stays super clean.

The staff were nice and the sheets were clean, yet the room smelled of smoke and there was no bench outside my door.

“Don't even think about staying here!”

There was nothing positive to mention; the staff were inconsiderate and tried to charge me more than the quoted price.

“Should have looked at room before I accepted it.”

The location was fine, though I didn’t find it right away; the room sat at the back of the motel with no bedspreads, and while the bathroom looked clean, there were various stains around. Breakfast was listed as included, but all I saw were two jars of dry cereal—no milk or anything else. A door at the back of the room had a no‑entry sign, and I thought I heard it open—maybe just dreaming.

“Ehhh, probably skip unless desperate.”

I had a choice of 2 "non-smoking" rooms. Both smelled like smoke. I chose the one that wasn't as bad. Unfortunately we didn't realize until we were going to bed that 1 bed was completely messed up (extremely lumpy and the box springs had yellow stains) and so we could only use 1 bed. They asked for cash instead of card payment. Other patrons were a little dodgy looking
