“La casa es un sueño, la anfitriona una pesadilla”
The house is super pretty and quite comfortable. The location is great and there’s parking. The pool is the highlight. I read in comments that neighbors were heard, but in our case there was total tranquility. From the start we found the beds unmade, which I don’t understand, but we bought it. The towel situation was surprising: knowing we were four people, they left one towel per person without a hand towel. When we asked for toilet paper (two rolls for four days) they told us we had to buy it ourselves… in the end they gave us two hand towels. And more toilet paper, but we still had to buy it. The house is completely bare; they leave a garbage bag for four days, and when we asked for another, they gave us one more, but we usually travel together and if we buy things we leave them in the house, yet there was no trash. And since we asked for four basic items, the response was quite miserable; we decided we wouldn’t leave a single thing. It’s full of ants that get into the bed and bite you if you’re out; at night mosquitoes won’t let you live. We bought a lot of stuff that we honestly preferred to throw out before leaving, given how we were treated. But the good thing comes when we leave after 5 min: the host sends me photos of dirty towels and says we used them to remove makeup, which isn’t true, yet for four days in a beach area with sunscreens, I don’t know how they expect the towels to stay clean. Besides, she accuses us of having to buy detergent and wash them “because it’s not a hotel.” Clearly it isn’t. In other occasions we’ve always left the washing machine on even with the sheets because houses usually have cleaning products. But having her write me photos to “scold us” is already the last thing we wanted to see. In short, the place is fine but the treatment is awful.
