“No recomendable”
The staff were excellent, and I would give the hostel a higher rating just for their friendliness. The location is good, within walking distance of museums and points of interest, and shops and restaurants are very close. I stayed in a private apartment next to the hostel, not in the main building, so this review applies only to that apartment. From the start, the cleanliness was poor: removable stains in the kitchen, hair on the bathroom floor, more hair in the sheets when I unfolded them, and under the bed it seemed like it had never been swept. The whole building is old and poorly maintained. The toilet flapper is worn or misaligned, so you have to fiddle with the handle to stop the water. The bed creaks with every movement; it looks like it was disassembled once and reassembled poorly, so it may fall apart again soon. The room has a window without curtains, so light comes in at night from somewhere, and sunlight filters in during the day. The kitchen window has a “curtain” that looks more like an old sheet. The sheets on the main bed are rough and old. Conversations from a section of the hostel can be heard as if they were inside the room, and every day at 7 AM or earlier there are people talking there. The Wi‑Fi in the apartment is unstable and slow (or perhaps it can’t handle many devices, which is typical for a hostel). The electrical installation is archaic, and it’s scary; it doesn’t seem ready for 21st‑century consumption. The worst part: the shower is one of those infamous “killer showers” with an amateurish connection. It’s also very low; a tall person could hit it with their head, and a shorter one could accidentally hit it with their arms, posing a huge risk. Overall, it was disappointing.
