The spot was spot on, and the price was ridiculously low—no breakfast, which probably explains it. I’ve stayed in tighter rooms in Incheon and Busan and paid almost twice as much. The staff were super helpful, and the owner was oddly kind. I told him I didn’t get how the showerhead worked because there seemed to be no holes for water to come out (but I could see them when I put on my glasses), and he explained the tiny holes actually boost the pressure—water sprayed nicely—and he handed me the same small showerhead, even though it cost KRW3000. I’d highly recommend the VIP Hotel Mokpo. A breakfast option would have been nice, but otherwise there were no faults.

Everything.

From the outside, the building and lobby look tidy. Inside, the accommodation is motel‑level; the lighting fixtures are dusty, the toilet has a rotten smell, and the tiles are covered in mold. The AC vent frames show bloodstains. I would never recommend this place. I chose it because the price was higher than elsewhere, but it turned out to be a complete scam. The parking entrance is too narrow. The bed sheets and pillow were clean enough to sleep on, though. Don’t do business with this place.

The place looked exactly like the photos. The bathroom tub was cracked, so I just stood up to shower; replacing the tub would improve things. The interior feels a bit dated, more like a motel than a hotel, and the towels and blankets seem a little worn. It’s about an 11‑minute walk from Peace Plaza, which I did on a hot day, so the heat made it uncomfortable, but the location isn’t bad if it isn’t scorching.
