“The San Luis Inn was a welcoming place to stay.”
The San Luis Inn was comfortable, clean, and in a great spot for exploring downtown. The only thing I have to say is that everyone was helpful, accommodating, gracious, and kind.

Good value for the stay. The lamp was broken, the bathroom door got stuck on the shower curtain rod and wouldn’t open fully, the bathroom lights kept flickering as if a ghost was playing tricks on us, the floors made our socks black—deep cleaning needed! Lastly, the big green hairy booger on the bathroom door, someone must have left it there while taking a mondo dook!!!

The room was very clean… Old‑school motel vibe but great value for the price compared to other rooms in the area… Quiet and peaceful… Leaving can be tough because it’s right next to a highway entrance… Other than that… No complaints, would recommend for a short stay of 1–3 nights… Located near everything SLO has to offer… If you’re on a budget and just visiting for a few days, stay here—you won’t be disappointed. The only thing you’ll find in the facility is a soda machine, an ice machine, and a parking lot.

I liked the location right next to the freeway, the fair price, and the quietness. Still, the interior felt a bit old and the whole facility could use some upgrades. After we went out to the beach and returned, the door wouldn’t open—not because of my phone but because the key was in my wallet. I asked the front desk, and she told me to ask the cleaning staff to open it, which seemed odd; she should have handled it herself. The cleaners didn’t speak much English and it took a while to get them to the door, and even then they didn’t just walk over—they told me to go open it, so I had to call them again. The bathroom door was loose on the hinges, so we had to slam it, and we felt the neighbors were loudly nearby.
