Château de la Gabelle Férrassières

I stayed in an ancient 13th‑century castle tucked into the green French countryside, and the rooms were spacious and clean, with large bathrooms. The breakfast offered a wide selection of local products. Nothing else stood out.

“Nice location.”

The rural setting a few miles from Sault is great for cyclists who want to ride around the area and up Mont Ventoux, and the staff were friendly. However, the breakfast really let the place down: it had no protein at all, only a croissant or bread with jam, and we had to request eggs, getting only a hard‑boiled one. We had to buy extra food at the local supermarket, which was disappointing for £115 per night.

I would highly recommend the Chateau; it was very welcoming, comfortable, and the food excellent, making for a unique experience.

“SCAM!!!! Run!!!!!!!!!!”

The place was awful—dirty, disgusting, and hot, with everything broken. There were no working lamps in the bathroom, so we showered in the dark, and the cabinet doors kept opening all night. They lied about providing an AC room; when we returned late at night, there was no room available, so we slept on the floor in excruciating heat. It was the worst experience of my life.
