Don Muir Guesthouse

Great location, really clean and a friendly host. I actually stayed in a more expensive place nearby, but I believe this was superior. I would recommend it and stay again.

The room was clean and nicely decorated. A mini fridge was provided with fresh drinks and milk, and they also had sachets of plant milk, which are hard to find. It’s a calm environment out of town and other guests were respectful. No issues using the shared bathroom – it was clean and available. I may have a more sensitive nose than other reviewers, but the overpowering musty odour in the hallway and bedroom during my visit was unbearable. I genuinely struggled to stay for the whole night. Hopefully, management can look into the ventilation or source of the problem – this wasn’t an issue when I stayed a few years back. The mattress was also incredibly bendy and far too soft for me. It would help to provide parking instructions in the confirmation email as it’s stressful arriving to find having to park off site, although the owner was easily contactable.

“Don Muir in leuke plaats”

It was clean, with plenty of breakfast items. The bathroom was also fine. Parking is only possible on a street a block away. In the evening the entrance isn’t well lit, which is a bit tricky because the steps down are slippery.

“Comfortable little room for a good night’s sleep.”

Although breakfast wasn’t included, there was a fridge stocked with milk, yogurt, orange juice, jars of cereals, biscuits and other treats, plus tea and coffee making facilities; these were really appreciated and let me start early without hunger. I was a bit worried about the shared bathroom before arriving, but it was fine and caused no issues.
