**Title: A beautiful hotel, but an extremely distressing experience when a payment issue arose** I travel extensively and have stayed in hotels around the world, but I have never experienced anything like what happened following my stay at Bibi-Khanym Hotel in Bukhara. The hotel itself is charming and well located. Unfortunately, my experience with the management completely overshadowed these positive aspects. A payment issue arose after my departure. I was willing to pay the outstanding amount, but the hotel failed to provide clear, workable payment instructions. Instead of helping me resolve the situation, the communication became increasingly stressful and intimidating. I felt harassed and threatened by the way the matter was handled. Eventually, I went to the Tourist Police in Khiva, extremely distressed and in tears. To my astonishment, the officer already knew about my case and had the exact outstanding amount on his phone. It was clear that the police had already received information about my payment. The tourist police were exceptionally kind and professional. An officer personally accompanied me to a working ATM and then to an office where the payment was arranged on my behalf. Without their assistance, I would not have been able to complete the transaction using the information supplied by the hotel. The entire ordeal consumed most of my day, but the emotional distress was far worse than the lost time. Afterwards, the hotel confirmed receipt of payment and apologized for any "misunderstandings", while suggesting that I had simply forgotten to pay. This completely missed the point of my complaint. Misunderstandings can happen anywhere. What matters is how a hotel treats its guests when something goes wrong. I was deeply disappointed by the way this situation was handled and would never stay here again. I am sharing this experience so that other travellers understand what can happen when a payment problem arises. What I disliked most was the extremely unprofessional and intimidating way the hotel management handled a payment misunderstanding. I repeatedly expressed my willingness to settle the outstanding amount, but instead of providing clear and workable payment instructions, the hotel subjected me to confusing communication, repeated calls and messages that made me feel harassed and threatened. After less than a day of unresolved communication, the matter had apparently already been reported to the police. When I went to the Tourist Police in Khiva myself, the officer already knew about my situation and showed me the exact amount owed on his phone. I was so distressed that I arrived at the police station in tears. An officer had to personally accompany me to an ATM and then to an office to arrange the payment, as I could not have completed it independently using the hotel's instructions. What should have been a simple payment issue cost me most of a day and caused enormous emotional distress. Even after everything was resolved, the hotel management suggested that I had simply forgotten to pay, completely ignoring the real problem: their inadequate communication and the way they treated me. I travel extensively and have never experienced anything like this. **A hotel's true level of hospitality is revealed not when everything goes smoothly, but when something goes wrong. Unfortunately, Bibi-Khanym Hotel failed completely in this respect.** I would never stay here again
