“Extremely luxurious and relaxing stay!”

The property was impeccably maintained and the facilities exceeded our expectations. Our room was larger than we thought it would be, the onsens were extremely luxurious, and we would definitely recommend dining for both dinner and breakfast at the hotel, which is very generous. It’s a bit farther from Nikko than we’d prefer (though it might have felt longer because we had been walking all day)… I’d suggest taking a taxi for a smoother trip.

The meals were fantastic and the rooms offered plenty of space, yet the property feels a bit old‑fashioned and worn. The onsen schedule could separate men and women by days instead of times of day, and the hotel is farther away than I expected; the trains aren’t very frequent.

“Hotel moderne avec onsen au pied de la montagne.”

A modern hotel that respects Japanese culture, conveniently located for walks in the upstream valleys and canyons. The Japanese breakfasts are very generous, and you can request them without fish. There’s no option for meals without a reservation, which felt more like a traditional ryokan would have been.

“Nice onsen experience but facility is in need of renovation”

Breakfast was lovely and hotel grounds are beautiful. Futon beds on tatami mats were comfortable. The onsen experience was enjoyable and my favorite part of the stay. As a family of 4, we were cramped in the apartment room; I thought we would have a little more space. The facility was located in a beautiful setting but is in need of upgrade. For example, hallway carpets are really worn and there was dry rot wood in the hot tubs. Non-operational kid area should be removed from the lobby as it gives the appearance of clutter
