“Séjour magnifique les pieds dans l’eau”
The hotel’s location, the beach, the calm, and the staff are all excellent. Nothing to add.
“Genoten van een heerlijke vakantie in dit bijzonder hotel”
We stayed here for the second year running and received a room upgrade. The hotel still performs very well and we’ll probably head back next year. The staff are super friendly, helpful and efficient. The location is gorgeous, everything is close by, and every morning we had breakfast with a sea view. The pool is nice and you can relax in a calm atmosphere, and the beach and sun loungers are also available. Still, a few issues compared to last year: when we arrived a young lady (new staff member for 4 months) was sent to point out our room but she couldn’t find it, so after a lot of back‑and‑forth we eventually found it ourselves. Cleaning was sloppy; sometimes it happened very early and when we returned in the late afternoon the bathroom floor was still wet (not dried) and the sheet on the bed wasn’t tucked tight for a few days; only the duvet was simply laid on. During breakfast there were still Dakos sandwiches, but the toppings weren’t nearby. Pancakes were tossed haphazardly so they stuck together and could only be taken with a tear. The oatmeal was almost never at the right temperature and often undercooked. The bananas were always unripe and unappetizing. Once I almost had to wait 10 minutes for a piece of bacon, and that was definitely not during peak breakfast time. We understand these are details and compare them to the services we enjoyed last year. Overall we were very satisfied with the hotel, but some adjustments are needed for the maintenance crews and kitchen to keep its status as a five‑star luxury beach hotel. Stay alert, that’s our message.
Great room and beach and pool. Lovely staff. Decent breakfast. Menu was a bit limited but well cooked. Great staff and service
Princess at the restaurant was amazing and pleasant throughout the stay, and her welcome and kindness significantly raised the rating. The rooms feel small, especially when you’re two.
The hotel is wonderful, tucked away in a quiet part of Platanias, Chania. It offers a great breakfast, a nice pool that’s perfectly adequate, and a wonderful beach with a great view and an amazing sunset (though you’ll need water shoes). The receptionist, Eirini, was very kind and helped my family with luggage and more. The restaurant near the hotel, The Olive Tree, was great as well.
