The location is excellent, right on the beach, and the room is basic yet very comfortable and good value for money in Aitutaki; the owner was friendly and accommodating.

The location was amazing, stressful. Due to the sun being lower in the winter months equals cold showers

The spot’s beach access is a plus, but the place felt a bit worn down; rustic vibes are fine, yet the shower was cold and that wasn’t mentioned in the description. The solar panels clearly aren’t working, and there’s no exterior lighting at all. The sheets and blanket looked very old, and instead of swapping them, they just patched the holes.

Matriki was exactly what I needed—hard to stay tense when you’re there. The hosts are super friendly and helpful, and the facilities stay clean. The huts are compact but still cozy, and they’ve got everything you need. For budget travelers, this is a solid choice, and I’d definitely return.
