We booked a suite and it was uncomfortable; the design was subpar. We expected wine glasses in a room at that level and complimentary water bottles, but the toilets were smelly.

“The perfect place to slow down and enjoy Sicily”

We loved our stay at Borgo Pantano — from the moment we arrived we felt completely at ease and didn’t want to leave. The atmosphere throughout the property was wonderful, and a few things stood out: the staff and the owner were exceptionally friendly and welcoming, and it genuinely felt like people enjoyed working there. The owner is usually around during breakfast and dinner, greets guests personally, and, if you like, has a little chat. We really appreciated this personal touch. We also liked the collection of tips and recommendations she has put together for exploring the area, covering everything from activities and culture to simply enjoying the surroundings. Breakfast was fantastic — a huge variety of delicious food, with plenty of savory options, fresh fruit, cakes, cookies and much more. There was something for every mood and appetite. Being able to enjoy it outside on the terrace made it even better and was a lovely way to start the day. The grounds are beautiful and exceptionally well maintained. There is so much space to relax that you can always find your own favourite spot — whether by the pool, in front of the hotel, under the trees or out in the park. There are lounge chairs, sun loungers, hammocks, blankets on the grass and traditional sunbeds, so you can really spend the day exactly as you please. We loved how easy it was to slow down and simply enjoy being there. We had dinner at the restaurant twice and really enjoyed both meals. The food was excellent and made staying in for dinner an easy choice after a relaxing day at the hotel. Overall, Borgo Pantano felt like a place where every detail is designed to make you feel comfortable and welcome. We had a wonderful time and would happily come back. Everything was great — maybe the only thing to improve would be the information about the half board and some flexibility on what to choose for this (e.g. we were told half‑board would enable us to choose any three dishes from the menu but when I opted for two appetizers and a dessert I was told that this was not possible). But that is only a minor point and nothing that had an impact on how much we enjoyed our stay.

Very nicely laid out with a large pool and a big park, comfortable beds, a super breakfast, very attentive staff, perfect for visiting Siracusa, and the possibility of an excellent dinner.

The place is beautiful, green spaces, a pampering pool, excellent breakfast and a polite staff that helps with everything. Our room had a staircase to the second floor that was very uncomfortable, the shower was small and cramped.
