“Great stay”
Very close to the station and had everything you needed locally, and there was nothing I didn't like.
“I'm not coming back”
The bedroom was clean but very cold, and even the small heater couldn't warm the room enough; the kitchen and bathroom were very dirty.
“Cellule monacale... mais en moins bien.”
The place is quirky but close to the metro, bus stops, and shops, and the owner keeps a low profile. The bedroom faces the courtyard, which is quiet, and the shower water is hot enough. The kettle, toilet, and fibre‑wifi work, and there’s a nice complimentary hair dryer. The “great living room” claim is false—there isn’t even a living room. The small room on the third floor has no elevator, a detail that wasn’t mentioned anywhere. The building looks old and isn’t insulated, neither thermally nor acoustically. The apartment feels generally unkept, and the kitchen is quite dirty. There’s no central heating; only a portable electric heater in the room. No windows let in light, and a constant cold draft blows in. There’s nothing to dry towels, and mould appears around the windows, with stains, torn curtains, mice under the bed, dust on the walls, and all the edges. There’s no TV or radio, and the roommates never interact—each locks themselves in their rooms. Even though the host can’t control it, the neighbors above were noisy. Another issue was that the key‑box code sent was wrong, so I had trouble contacting the owner and entering the property right from the start, and he didn’t even apologise. That was a first red flag… In short, if I had a backup plan, I probably wouldn’t have come at all. At least the room door locked.
“It was fine for somewhere to sleep for one night in London . Affordable”
The price and location were good, the host was very polite and communicated well, but the kitchen and shared bathroom were lacking.
“A éviter absolument”
The bed is good and there’s a small portable heater in the room, but the third‑floor private‑resident room has no elevator, the kitchen, bathroom, and toilets are shared and very dirty, the room is basic, the apartment is very cold, the kitchen is filthy with urine on the floor in the toilets, the supposedly renovated bathroom is barely usable, and it really isn’t worth 65 €.
