The Pathfinder Motel, Kew, is a 20-minute drive from Melbourne's CBD, offering free Wi-Fi and an outdoor pool. Air-conditioned rooms feature a TV, fridge, and tea/coffee facilities. Located near Camberwell Shopping Precinct and Green Acres Golf Club, the motel provides heating, a sofa, and bathroom with toiletries in each room, plus BBQ facilities and a guest laundry.

I was let down when I arrived because there was no working restaurant, no room service, and no breakfast available. I had booked and paid online beforehand, so I would have chosen somewhere else if I’d known. It would have been good to be warned that the restaurant isn’t there, and the older receptionist was hard to get a clear answer from.

It did everything I wanted from a motel, but the trams outside were annoying.

The location was great, not too far from Melbourne CBD, but there weren’t enough towels and no face washers.

The owners were delightful. The rooms were up to standard despite showing their age a bit. Location is perfect for accessing the Yarra or getting into the city
