Takahane felt far from the city centre, which was inconvenient, yet the relaxed atmosphere let us experience real Korean life and the nearby E‑mart was a plus; however, we booked a double room for two people and only received one bath towel, which remained the case the next day, the window was dirty, and although most of the room was decent, the basement restaurant’s microwave was handy but the dining area was pitch black at night, forcing us to rely on our phone lights to see anything.

I loved staying here - the toilet was a big deal for me, and I appreciated that I could get free bottled water anytime. They'd refill it during cleaning, and I could even grab extra bottles, which was super thoughtful. The location's great too, so I'd definitely stay here again.

Room wasn’t clean, upon arrival we had to change our room as it was smelling of cigarette smoke; second room air conditioning not working

The spot isn’t right in the tourist zone—about a half‑hour from Hongdae—but there are plenty of restaurants, a two‑storey Olive Young, a whole block of Emart, and a river nearby, making it very handy. The room was huge, fitting two large suitcases with room to spare, the bathroom was spacious with wet‑dry separation, the bed was firm enough, and everything was quiet and tidy. The downside was that the nearest subway station required a 10‑minute walk.
