The décor has a zen vibe. It lacks sleep masks because there are no blinds, and there are no earplugs for those who can’t sleep with the frog noises.

We were drawn to the beautiful garden, the pool, and the overall serenity, and the rooms and décor were gorgeous. Yet, after staying twice in Bali across a range of hotels, we had high expectations for the local hospitality. The front desk and management came across as merely polite rather than genuinely warm. On arrival, we were immediately shown the rules—no smoking, no parking, etc.—with plenty of signs around the room, which felt a bit impersonal. Even though we had messaged the hotel before arriving, no one seemed to remember us as individuals; no one asked how our day had been or followed up on our pre‑arrival requests. A few moments highlighted this: the day before we left, the staff reminded us at 8 a.m. to pay for three beers, as if that was the top priority, even though we were due to check out at 6 a.m. The same staff member, on the day of checkout, claimed the sarongs were missing, not knowing they had been collected by the parking attendant two days earlier when we returned from an excursion and never returned them to the room. These small lapses, along with a few exceptions, meant the warm hospitality we’d always found elsewhere in Bali was absent here. The property itself is stunning, but the value for money—especially for our room—was disappointing. We paid €900 for four nights, for a room without a private entrance and only a cheap bar of soap in the shower instead of proper body wash.

I loved every detail—from the setting and décor to the service—and had no complaints at all.

The boutique hotel is stunning, with rooms that feel intentionally crafted; a true hidden gem.

We spent three nights at the Farmhouse and it was an incredible experience. The stay with the Stone House family turned out to be one of the best hotel experiences we’ve ever had. Ayu arranged fantastic excursions, and Wayan drove us safely through the somewhat chaotic streets. The family dinner was a culinary delight; the portions were large, yet we finished every last bite because it was simply too good to leave anything on our plates. Thank you to the entire team from the bottom of our hearts. This hotel comes highly recommended and deserves a solid 5.
