I stayed at a newly built lodge that was spotless and well organized; the breakfast was generous and tasty, and the owners were friendly, polite, and welcoming. I only spent one night, but it was very pleasant, and the room had a nice little private balcony.

Breakfast was simple but plenty, and the staff were really attentive. The rooms were top‑notch. The catch? The lodge sits in São João Del Rei near Tiradentes on a road that’s still unpaved, so you need a car to get there. And the shower? Water was weak and scorching hot because it’s solar‑powered.
