The site is beautiful, just steps from the Salaa gate of Tsavo East, and Galana Park is only a 5‑minute drive away. The food and facilities are very basic, hot water is scarce, there’s no drinking water in the room, and staff seem confused when you ask for anything; at check‑in you only receive a key with no information about meal times or the rule that you can’t walk alone after sunset. The price is far too high for what’s offered, especially compared with a nearby lodge near Manjani Gate that was much cheaper and better. I would skip this place.

The welcome, kindness, and professionalism of the staff were outstanding, and the location overlooking the Galana River offered a constant view of hippos, elephants, and crocodiles.

“Our stay was good, by and large. The rooms, especially the bathroom area, require some improvement”

The staff were amazing and the food was very good; the swimming pool was very nice and big, and the restaurant ambience was very good. From the campsite we could see elephants, crocodiles, and hippos, which was exceptional! However, the rooms were basic, the bathroom lacked rails or hooks for hanging towels, and blankets were missing for the windy, cold weather, so we were shivering the first night. Blankets were brought the next day, but they were very small and of very poor quality.

The camp sits in a perfect location on the river, and most tents have river views. The tents are very comfortable and well designed with a safari feel and comfort. The food was fresh and tasty, more like home‑cooked than standard hotel fare, and the staff were extremely kind and helpful. The pool area is the perfect spot for a lazy afternoon after an early wake‑up to see the animals. I wasn’t clear that the camp was outside the park, but it’s very close to the park area where most animals are. They don’t have a safari car, so if you want to use their cars or guides you have to organize that in advance.
