The place is good but falls short of boutique standards; the staff felt rigid, and a cockroach was spotted in the pool.

Location, room, and pool were fine, but for the price you’d expect better service; the staff seemed uninterested in their roles, a common mindset in that part of Mexico, except for the waiter at the restaurant who was friendly and good.
