The price was acceptable for a last‑minute booking, but the room smelled like smoke even though I don’t smoke. There were stains on the walls, it felt uncomfortable and dirty, and the staff wouldn’t negotiate.

“Although the basics were met such as a comfy bed and hot shower, it was dated, in poor neighborhood”

Basic amenities were fine: a comfy bed, plenty of chairs, good lighting, and quiet nights. However, the shower curtain was ripped, bathroom tiles were missing, there were no hangers, the neighborhood seemed questionable, and the air‑conditioner was loud.

The location was easy to reach, but the property was run down and needed infrastructure refurbishment.

The place was convenient and not too pricey, but I hated the room because the sheets and blankets were covered in burn marks; the office closed before 9:00 p.m. was a bit inconvenient, the staff didn’t answer the phone when my TV stopped working and I had to fix it myself, and the pool was completely out of service even though it was advertised, which is why I ended up staying elsewhere.

The Downtown Inn’s only redeeming points are its great location and solid Wi‑Fi, yet everything else was below expectations: the room smelled bad, was poorly cleaned, the shower was visibly dirty, the TV had only a handful of channels, and there was no ice machine, so I wouldn’t pay the price for this stay.
