The rooms were very open, green, and airy. The only issue was that the water coming into the bathtub was very yellow.

“Pleasant but could have been better”

Breakfast was just about okay in terms of variety, and having the option of juices and cold coffee in hot weather was essential. The process of moving from the jetty to the hotel should be the hotel’s responsibility; additional charges for the ferry and e‑rickshaw to the hotel were not included.

It was very peaceful—a wonderful contrast to Calcutta! The food was excellent, especially the fish curries. It was very close to the river, and I enjoyed both the morning and sunset trips.

Sonar Bangla Sundarban offers a truly luxurious retreat in the very heart of the great delta. Surrounded by water, mangroves, and the unique atmosphere of the Sundarbans, the property provides a rare combination of comfort and immersion in nature. The rooms are spacious and well-appointed, the facilities thoughtfully designed, and the overall experience is one of calm and relaxation. It is an excellent place to unwind after long days of exploration. The only significant drawback was the internet connection, which was unfortunately very unreliable. For guests who need stable access for work or communication, this may be a serious limitation. Apart from that, the stay was smooth, comfortable, and memorable — a refined base from which to experience this extraordinary landscape. WiFi
