The location was great, Pauline & Bill were perfect hosts, very welcoming and friendly, and nothing was too much trouble for them. The cooked breakfast was delicious and Jasper the dog was beautiful. We wish them all the best for their future plans. Absolutely nothing else.

Pauline and Bill are warm and wonderful hosts, you feel completely at ease there. The room was very clean and cozy, and breakfast was excellent. The tray with treats, water, and other necessities was refilled effortlessly. Absolutely recommend!

“A lovely place to stay for a visit to Kendal and the Lakes.”

The breakfast was delicious, and the owners were very friendly. The room felt cozy and comfortable, and it’s practically next to the Oxenholme train station. At night the road to get home is dark, so you’ll need a flashlight, but the view of the night sky makes it worthwhile.

The breakfasts were warm, cozy, and tasty, and everything you could need was available, making it a perfect base for exploring the lakes by car or public transport. I’m lactose‑free, and the hosts had already stocked up on dairy alternatives to make sure everything was perfect. The only minor gripe is that the breakfast hours could be a bit longer, but that’s a very small issue. The place is lovely and run by lovely people.
