The location was good, just 500 m from the nearest lift, but the accommodation itself was very old and worn, and the kitchen facilities were minimal.

“Delightful Japanese Pension with beautiful hosts. Small private onsen was a bonus.”

The hosts went above and beyond to keep me comfortable, answered every question, and even offered to drive me around in their own vehicle—truly a shining example of Japanese hospitality.

“Loved this place thoroughly”

This tiny pension was the most wonderful place I’ve stayed at; the staff were beautiful, run by an older but youthful Japanese couple, making it feel like a home away from home. It had a fridge/freezer, traditional bathrooms, adequate toilets, heated floors, spacious rooms, a drying room, a fireplace, and plenty of dining space.

“Lovely lodge to stay on a ski trip!”

Pension Starlight Azumi was a great place to stay for skiing in Hakuba. It was a comfortable lodge, well-located in Wadano with buses to Iwatake, Tsugiake and Goryu 47 (and other resorts) close by! There is food close by, from 5 minute walk to a 10-15 minute walk to the Happo village. The shared lounge, bathrooms and room were clean and well-kept. The rooms were really warm because of the heated floor. The owners were a great presence around the house! Would come back here for another ski trip in Hakuba. The wifi was a bit slow at times

The location was amazing (just a 1‑minute walk to Kosukai), the hosts were lovely, and the little sitting room was the coziest.
