Carmen’s hospitality was wonderful, and her homemade food from her homeland was delicious; the house’s beautiful surroundings and evening outdoor dining with stunning sunset views were a treat, and Carmen even had a wine list so we could bring a bottle. We enjoyed a pleasant walk to the nearby castle, a 7 km trek for an average hiker, and visited nearby spots like Cáceres and Truijlo. The bed was personally too firm for me, and the 2 km gravel path to the house is unpaved; driving is fine if you go slowly. Overall a fantastic stay that didn’t dampen the fun—a real gem in the area.
