The inside and outside look pretty good, but the service, room layout, dining, and front desk were all lacking. The place feels seriously understaffed, which explains the unresponsive staff, and at the nightly rate that’s unacceptable.

The place is charming with comfy beds and a great bar, and the quick breakfast is tasty. Rooms above the restaurant or bar can be a bit noisy, so ask the desk for a quieter spot and how many stairs are involved if that matters. The staff were very kind, helpful, and accommodating, especially when I was traveling with my elderly senior dog and they chose the perfect room for me. Some rooms are noisier than others, but just ask the desk.

The room was large, nice, and comfortable. A dog in the adjacent room barked for two hours.

The rooms were spacious, clean, well decorated and the bed was comfortable. The hotel has several buildings and I had specifically booked the one that used to be a bank. At booking I was told there was free parking, but I had to let the property know I needed it; the reservations were then moved to a different location. I would have liked to know that earlier, especially since staying in the former bank building was a key reason for choosing this hotel.

We loved the restaurant and appreciated having a carriage house to store our bikes. We didn’t like having to roll our bags 2‑3 blocks to the hotel.
