Nestled in a historic Carrbridge building, Cairn Hotel offers charming rooms with private bathrooms, walk‑in showers, fireplaces, tea/coffee makers and work desks. Guests enjoy British cuisine with vegetarian, vegan and gluten‑free options, plus continental or full English/Irish breakfasts. Free bicycles, on‑site restaurant, bar and lounge complement nearby Landmark Forest Adventure Park (6‑minute walk) and easy access to Inverness Castle.

The location was fine, and the room was comfortable; the bathroom was in a separate room across the corridor, which is odd. Some rooms belong to a guest‑house next door that the hotel seems to have taken over. The dinner was the best of a five‑day trip, especially the duck, and the staff were cheerful and competent. We didn’t mind it, but there is no lift if your room is on an upper floor.

Breakfast was excellent and the staff were very good, but dinner service lagged and one waiter forgot an order and added it to the bill.
