We received a same‑day cancellation notice saying “bad management” with Booking, and they claimed no rooms were available despite our reservation. Casa del Sol Naciente offered a 100€ more expensive alternative with no financial compensation. Friends who booked the same place through a different agency had the exact same issue.

The place is right next to Calle Caracolles, so all the main tour agencies and shops are within arm's reach. The kitchen is open for a good chunk of the day, but I wish they'd add a microwave and a sandwich press.

Parking is a plus – you can stash your car easily. The location is just right for most people. But the place is rough around the edges: it's not very clean, common kitchen tools keep vanishing, and the staff sleep right next to the rooms, so you can't chat late without disturbing them. The rooms could use a cat‑friendly touch and better furniture.

I was surprised how cheap it was for a spot less than a ten‑minute walk from the city centre. They don't offer laundry, but they let you hang your clothes outside. The room was dirty, guests were loud all night, the shower water was cold, and sometimes there was no toilet paper. The space felt drafty and smelled a bit off, especially since the living area is basically outdoors.
