“No in a good area”

It’s a cheap downtown option, but we checked out just hours after checking in. The hotel looked shady, had a bad location, and seemed to be used mainly by people staying only a few hours.

The hotel’s location is great, close to Shinsaibashi, and it’s easy to reach all the attractions; there are plenty of restaurants nearby. The front desk staff were friendly, which was one of the few positives during my stay. However, the area is very lively, so it’s not quiet during the day, and when I opened the door I could often smell cooking fumes and food odors from the restaurant. The room was very humid, the bathroom had a noticeable bad smell, and I could see what looked like mold on the countertop. The hotel operates mostly on a self‑service basis – you have to take used towels down to the front desk to get fresh ones, and if you want daily housekeeping you’ll pay extra; it feels more like a family‑style apartment than a typical hotel.
