“soggiorno ottimo, oltre le mie aspettative, servizio e staff davvero eccellente.”
The location, service, elegance, and value for money were all good, but the air conditioning was a problem.

I liked the beach access and the outdoor restaurant was decent, with good food and great service, but the air conditioning was broken and nothing was done about it. I suggested at least a fan, but to no avail. Thank God we only stayed 2 nights. We slept with the balcony door open because there was no airflow.

The service, breakfast, and cleanliness were all wonderful, but there could have been a glass box in the bathroom to prevent water from splashing during the shower.

The staff were kind and helpful, and the place was kept clean and tidy.

The hotel is right on the beach, which we think is the best in the area because the sand is not only on the shore but also in the sea (only a few small pebbles at the water‑shore boundary). Nearby towns had beaches of coarse gravel (Regio di Calabria) or a mix of sand and gravel, with thick gravel in the water (Scilla, Tropea). The hotel’s beachfront restaurant serves tasty and inexpensive fresh pizzas, fish dishes (swordfish) and other meals. The main building has nice two‑bedroom rooms, and along the way to the beach are one‑ and two‑story bungalows: four‑bedroom ground‑floor bungalows and larger two‑level ones. All have a veranda in front of the entrance, a table, chairs, and a towel and swimsuit dryer. These bungalows are located along the road from the main building to the fenced hotel beach. Just outside the main building is a pool. The path to the beach is often swept, and the pool and its surroundings are cleaned daily. Staying in a bungalow between the pool and the beach is the best option, because right after leaving the sea or pool you can dry off on the veranda, relax, drink something, use the toilet, shower without having to change clothes to avoid dripping into the main building. A great place for families with children. Overall conditions are positive. Breakfast features a large portion of traditional sweet buns and chocolate‑filled croissants, jam or custard, or plain, plus cakes. For guests outside Italy, part of the buffet on the right side has wheat and whole‑grain bread, excellent butter, and to the bread there is prosciutto, white poultry ham, cheeses, yogurts, and boiled eggs. There was a table with gluten‑free products. There were no hot sausages or hot dogs or scrambled eggs, but that didn’t bother us. Perhaps if we had asked for scrambled eggs they would have prepared them, but we didn’t try. The coffee was delicious, many varieties brought by friendly waiters. Generally the taste of the food and coffee and the friendliness of the waiters were a plus. The only downside was the expensive loungers – 40 euros for two loungers under a parasol for the whole day, 7 euros per hour. Also the town of Catona is littered and not very attractive, but from the local train station – about 1 km from the hotel – you can easily reach everywhere: 5 stops to Regio di Calabria, 3 stops to Scilla, 1 stop to Villa San Giovani where ferries to Sicily depart to Messina and about 2 hours drive to Tropea.
