“Great location but could use some TLC”

I couldn’t get the name of the woman who seemed to run the breakfast area, but she was very pleasant, always smiling and greeting guests while she worked. She didn’t miss a beat, and the staff worked hard to keep the food areas full and guests satisfied. The seating, however, was awkward—people had to stand by tables while others got up to use them, making the breakfast feel rushed. I’ve traveled my whole life and never filled out a negative survey, but sleeping here was below expectations: the pillows were the size of a throw pillow, the bedding consisted of sheets, and the mattresses were hard as rocks, so we didn’t get any sleep. The air‑conditioning unit was inconsistent, causing the room to overheat at times during the weekend. There was also a noticeable odor throughout the hotel; it wasn’t clear if it was animal, but it was definitely present.

The room was clean, tidy, and comfortable, and I liked everything about it—nothing negative.

“We got plenty of rest, had a good breakfast, and got on our way feeling refreshed.”

Breakfast turned out better than I expected, and the serving area was neat and clean. I especially liked the sausage options.
