“Heaven in the hills”

The property and grounds are immaculate, a true oasis. The pool is stunning. The host went above and beyond for us. Breakfast far exceeded our expectations. There is absolutely nothing we didn’t like.

I stayed in a quiet spot, but everything else was awful. The air‑conditioning is paid, and even though it’s listed on the site, we only found out when we were leaving that we had to pay in cash; we were lucky to have some money on us, yet no one warned us. The host lives on the premises, which felt intrusive because she wandered around and seemed to watch us constantly. On arrival she listed a bunch of rules we couldn’t follow—like not letting her dog into the room—and kept stressing the paid AC, giving off the vibe that there were a lot of restrictions. She kept speaking English to us even though we’re Spanish and she speaks Spanish fluently. When we were checking out she told us she’d check our electricity usage so we’d pay, right before leaving, which made us feel she didn’t trust us, and she even asked for our IDs just before we left (that’s normally done at the start to avoid bothering guests). The place itself is nice and quiet, but we constantly felt that we somehow offended the host, who was very unfriendly, unpleasant, and seemed to watch us all the time.
