The foyer looked stunning and the gym was excellent, but we were woken at 7 am by loud construction noises from directly above our room and couldn't get back to sleep; if you’re renovating, give at least one floor of buffer or wait until after checkout to start hammering.

It seems the hotel is undergoing renovations and so far it looks impressive; the staff were very helpful and accommodated all our requests, and there were no negatives.

The location was fantastic—right in the CBD and opposite the tram stop—so we could hop on a free tram straight to the Entertainment Centre, and we also enjoyed being close to the Central Market and Gouger Street. The downside of being in the CBD was the sirens at night; coming from the country, that noise was unfamiliar and disturbed my sleep, but overall it was a great hotel.
