“The major failures at being secure, private or clean are not made up for by its eclectic charm.”
I had to call the hostel owner because I was arriving after the listed check‑in time, and he was incredibly accommodating, offering me a drink and helping me bring my luggage inside. He was very hospitable and helpful with directions. The room was dusty, the bed linens had hair, the bathroom was dirty, and there was no sense of security because the building had no lock except for the toilet. The room felt cluttered with a kettle, microwave, mini‑fridge, and other dated appliances. The bathroom had a large mirror at eye level that tilted downwards, which felt invasive; I covered it with a towel. The sliding doors to the shower were not lockable, and the interior walls were full of mirrors, adding to the feeling of exposure. The fittings looked old and possibly unclean, making the shower area feel unsanitary. After returning to the room, I found hair on the bed linens and a suspicious stain on the blanket cover. Feeling unsafe, I decided to use the other bed in the twin room, but after settling in, I realized the blanket cover had a strange colored stain. By that point I had had enough and left the hostel. If cleanliness matters to you, think twice before booking here.
