“Very friendly welcoming staff and yummy morning noodles!”

The spot is right in the middle of everything and the layout feels really artistic – there’s even a little calligraphy corner and the staff are friendly enough to point you to the best views from the upper deck, especially the fireworks over Er Hai lake. Breakfast was solid, but the décor gets a bit quirky; we found a bathtub shoved into our bedroom and some of the paintings were oddly creepy. Overall a relaxing place if you can overlook the strange furnishings.

“Not worth the price paid”

Breakfast and tea were definitely the highlights, and the free laundry/drying service came in handy; the staff seemed to go out of their way to help. The downside is the location – Shuang Lang itself isn’t much fun, and the room price was nearly double what you’d expect for a 4‑star spot in Kunming, especially for just a half‑sea view. In short, good service but not worth the cost.

The hotel looks gorgeous and feels comfy, and it’s right in the heart of Shuanglan so everything’s within walking distance. Staff were super friendly – shout‑out to 小杨, 小赵 and 小刘 for being especially helpful – and the whole vibe was upbeat, with everyone seeming happy every day. I didn’t notice any real drawbacks during my stay.

“Красиво!”

The building is styled like an old house, with rooms opening onto a quiet inner courtyard, lots of flowers, and nicely arranged tea and lounge areas that make the pace feel relaxed; staff were excellent and the suite we stayed in had a cozy, vintage feel. In January the room was a bit chilly, so we kept the heater on, and the neighboring karaoke bar stayed loud until the early hours, making sleep difficult unless you use earplugs. If you’re okay with the noise, the charm outweighs the chill.

Not directly on the water, but the Hai Street location is handy – close to the pier, a small parking lot, and plenty of shops to wander, plus the staff (especially 小杨, 小刘, 小赵) were attentive and even brought us hot mulled wine for the holidays. The room had a nice style and a good sleep playlist, though the building shows its age and the sea‑view rooms still pick up music from the bar next door; breakfast and afternoon tea were just average.
