Getting to the place is a nightmare – a long winding route, especially at night, and nothing in the description warns about it. Even with the host’s map, we got lost and found the house by matching the photo. The room itself is awkward: no power outlets, the TV doesn’t work, and the shower and toilet are odd. It’s definitely not for everyone. I wouldn’t go back.

It’s a bit quirky. The bathroom could use a darker door, and a few extra shower accessories would be nice.

The room’s decor was carefully done and tasteful. The village is small but charming. Even though it’s close to Cefalú, it feels like a different world. The welcome was a bit cold from the guy who attended us. He only explained four basics – “here’s your room,” “these are the keys for the front door,” … and didn’t offer us the chance to have breakfast at the place, even though the website advertised a fabulous extra breakfast.

The spot in Gratteri village is simply dreamy; there’s not a lot to do, but the scenery and local vibe make it 100% worth it. The room is priced well, feels ancient yet has every modern need, and sits about 30’ from Cefalu in the Madonie mountains. The only hiccup was the room’s door lock, which was a bit tricky to use.
