Everything about Desert Lodge justified every cent we spent; after just two nights we were already tearing up saying goodbye to that extraordinary place and its staff. The sustainable concept, the personal service, the grounds, the tent‑room, the food—everything was outstanding, and we’re jealous of anyone who gets to go there later.

The place is gorgeous, set right on the Namib Desert, and the food is the best I've tasted in Namibia—chef daily whipping up special dishes that fit our dietary limits, something not common in many places even though asking preferences is the norm. Beata took wonderful care of us during meals, and her name felt lucky, making us feel happy around her. Because the safari weather was bad, we received wind‑proof ponchos, and at night the bed had hot water thermoses. The only downside was that on cloudy days there was no hot water.

We had an amazing time at this lodge, with a unique location, spacious and clean rooms, and breathtaking views of the sunrise. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, making our stay truly special. We were only there for three nights, but we would have loved to stay longer.
