“Comfortable and Cozy”
Having stayed here before, I knew what to expect: the apartment was comfortable and cozy with everything you could need, close enough to the entertainment and food center yet far enough to enjoy a relaxed evening on the balcony; note that it’s on the second floor (Ground floor‑1st‑2nd) and you reach it via a narrow spiral staircase, so plan your luggage accordingly 😁
“Charmant appartement, très bien situé”
The apartment is very well located in the heart of the lovely center of Alvor; it’s very pretty, quiet (according to the occupants of the apartments above), the décor was tasteful, and the bedding is comfortable, which is highly appreciated. We didn’t use the kitchen, but it looked well equipped. The sofa was very nice and comfortable, great after a long day of walking. It’s the first time we’ve rented with a key box, and it’s a bit odd not to see the owner for the whole stay 🫣 At arrival the apartment wasn’t ready, we could only occupy it two hours later. The previous guests apparently left it very dirty. When we entered, there was a strong bleach smell; I was worried about ruining my belongings, so we had to ventilate a lot because the odor was strong. The apartment’s staircase is very steep, there’s no elevator, which isn’t very convenient for luggage or for older people. The door at the bottom of the stairs had to be slammed to close, so for us in the first apartment it was very unpleasant to hear it slam at any time, not to mention some rather noisy people. The lighting in the apartment is very white, which isn’t very warm. The shower tap doesn’t work very well, hard to get hot water. Finally, the bathroom door squeaks terribly, and when you get up at night to go to the toilet it’s very unpleasant. If these small points can help owners improve things, I’m delighted 🥰 We’ll return with pleasure 😄
The mattresses were comfortable and it was very quiet.
It’s close to bars and restaurants and very quiet.
The balcony and rooftop offer a view of the ria; the house was clean and had all the amenities to cook at home. The steep staircase access and the spiral stairs make it difficult for those with limited mobility and many bags to transport.
