The owner was rude and aggressive, constantly trying to get us to pay in cash with fabricated excuses about supposed commissions. During breakfast he sat at the restaurant table and monitored everyone, an intrusive presence. The building looked awful from the outside in a bad neighbourhood behind Valona’s waterfront, which is actually the only street worth visiting in the city. If you don’t need to go to Valona, skip this place entirely.

The advertised amenities were completely ruined. The owner who greets guests talks to us in a disgracefully primitive way, several rooms lack a toilet seat—according to him it used to be there but won’t be again, the refrigeration units for the fish shop on the ground floor create unbearable night‑time noise in nearby rooms, cleaning is extremely superficial and towels weren’t changed for a week, and the owner threw our money on the counter and said we could leave immediately if we didn’t like anything, accepting only cash—if we paid by a booking platform they would deduct it from his account, ignoring any transfer fees for converting our cash to euros. I suggest the booking site verify that a property isn’t mixing industrial services with a “peaceful, clean, quiet” accommodation.
