The house has a beautiful sandstone façade, well‑maintained vegetation typical of the region, which enhances the local character. In the yard there are fig trees, hibiscus, and nearby olive trees. Sergio, the host, not only offered fresh figs, but also delicious olive oil and excellent organic wine made with local producers. Every morning a cake baked by Stefani, the hostess, awaited us – a treat! The rooms were tidy and clean. The furnishings reflected the tradition of Italian country homes. The beds were comfortable with beautiful metal decorations, the kitchen was well equipped with basic groceries, a large fridge, and ample cooking and dining space. The bathroom was comfortable and nice. The lack of air conditioning was compensated by a cooling fan and natural ventilation. Mosquito nets on all windows added to the comfort. The view of Ascoli hills was spectacular, especially at night when the city lights shone. The area is very safe, as is the whole region. A well‑equipped supermarket (Conad) and petrol stations are nearby. A large parking lot and shady trees are in front of the house. The hosts are wonderful – Sergio is friendly, helpful, and responds immediately to guests' extra needs, offering generous hospitality. The area has many worthwhile places to visit. We were especially interested in sites with St. Francis and other Umbrian saints, Tuscany, Siena, Terni, Cascia, Nursia, and of course Ascoli. Also Perugia, Gubbio, Spello, Spoleto, Foligno, Porciano, and many others, all within 130 km of our base. We recommend it for many reasons!
