A practical chain of hotels for transit across Germany, with a large fridge‑freezer, a modern bathroom, and a cozy bed. The main light blew out with a pop as soon as I turned it on, which was inconvenient but not the hotel’s fault. The TV wasn’t pre‑tuned to channels and required a PIN I didn’t have. Overall, I was glad to discover these hotels a couple of years ago for just €50. I’ve always thought there was only one flaw in the concept: transit travellers would prefer a microwave over a cooktop. These once‑shiny, affordable hotels are now starting to show their age, yet they’re almost twice as expensive as five years ago.

“Aufgeheiztes unsauberes Zimmer direkt an der Autobahn / Tankstelle”

Parking was easy and we could refuel at the nearby station, but the room was a disappointment: the mattress was dirty and broken, the shower screen was filthy, the toilet flush didn’t work, there was an unpleasant odor, the WC wasn’t clean, the curtain had fallen and I had to re‑hang it myself—something the cleaning staff should have noticed. There was no reception, and getting a refund was slow and seemingly ignored; asking for a night‑time call log after arriving past 22:00 says a lot.

“Perfekt für Zwischenstopp auf einer langen Fahrt, schöne Zimmer, geräumiges Bad, tipptopp!”

Ideal for a quick stop on a long drive, the rooms were nice, the bathroom spacious, everything was spot‑on.
