One of the most unique accommodations you can find. The jungle journey is indescribable and truly an adventure, perfect for those who want to experience the Amazon up close. You must be able to walk well and avoid carrying too much luggage, because the trip to the accommodation is already a big adventure. Hector, Nelson, Jon, and the whole family will stay with us forever. The price for the night walk felt very expensive for just an hour of walking.

We’re a family of four and spent five fantastic days at Jhon’s place. The accommodation is tucked away in a clearing in the jungle, and you only leave it for booked activities. The owner’s mother prepares three tasty meals a day for an extra fee, while free water and coffee are also provided. Before arrival, Jhon discusses all details and planned activities with us. Because the journey is complicated, Jhon met us at the Leticia port and accompanied us on the multi‑hour trip to the lodge. There are four rooms; we booked two, and the other two were unoccupied except for the last night. There is no electricity, so you should bring enough lamps. Jhon and Maria are very talkative and helpful, sharing many stories and anecdotes. Overall, a fantastic way to experience authentic Amazonian life, deep in the jungle, in direct contact with the indigenous people. Highly recommended!

“Immer, immer, immer wieder hier! Bucht genau hier :) Das tollste Erlebnis kann man nur hier erleben!”

It was an absolutely unique experience amid the Amazon jungle. Living authentically in the Cabañas under the best starry sky, with no electricity and candlelight, was amazing. Every day we were fed with locally grown food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Jon’s family—his mother cooking, Jon joining us on the trip to the sloths, Nelson showing us pink dolphins, and Hector leading a canoe tour—answered all our questions even though our Spanish wasn’t perfect, making us feel like friends and allowing us to share three unforgettable days together. We were impressed by how warm, hospitable, and family‑like everyone was. If you’re after an adventure (even in rain or heat) and want to meet genuinely kind people, this is exactly the place. The Cabañas’ location can be up to 45 minutes on foot through the jungle depending on the water level of the tributaries, and the excursions demand fitness; the only requirement to truly enjoy it is to be fit.

“Une expérience exceptionnelle au coeur de la forêt amazonienne”

The remote location gives you the real Amazon experience. Being in the jungle adds an exceptional dimension to an Amazon trip. In summer, you need to walk 45 minutes through the forest, which gives a real taste of adventure. Maria, Nelson, and Camisir are indigenous Ticuna who are eager to share their forest life and show that respectful tourism is possible. Comfort is very basic; it’s hot, humid, and there’s no electricity, but you live an unforgettable experience. It’s not for everyone; you must accept some discomfort for a few days to feel detached from daily life yet close to Amazonian peoples. For French travelers, choosing the Cabanas Ecologicas Mu’u is like a “meeting in unknown land.” It’s necessary to bring plenty of cash and external batteries.
