“A tranquil mountain escape”
A real gem—great value for money! The room is spacious, cozy, with nice lighting and a huge, comfy bed. Windows all around let in plenty of natural light during the day, and blackout curtains keep it dark at night. The hot shower and new showerhead were a real treat. There’s a large outdoor seating area with lounges and a table for dining or working, which we used for work. The views are gorgeous, and there’s plenty of wildlife—monkeys, birds, squirrels—and a sweet little dog that’s very well behaved and loves pats if you’re interested. The bus stops right at the driveway, runs very frequently, and only costs 75 rupees to get into Ella town; the ride takes about 15 minutes. They serve a delicious Sri Lankan breakfast and have a restaurant upstairs. A bakery next door opens at 7am. The Secret Waterfall is within walking distance, and there are a handful of other restaurants and local shops nearby. The owner and his family are warm and welcoming but also respect your privacy. Overall it was a great stay and we’d stay again! 🥰
