This place is a hidden gem. We’ll definitely return. The breakfast was great. The only issue was that the hot tub was under maintenance.

Located off I‑80, Stoney Creek Hotel & Conference Center sits under ten minutes from Des Moines downtown. Rustic‑themed rooms offer flat‑screen TVs, free Wi‑Fi, coffee/tea makers, hairdryers and work desks. Amenities include a heated indoor/outdoor pool, hot tub, fitness and business centers. Bearly’s Bar serves cocktails, wine and pizza nightly. Nearby attractions: Adventureland, Wells Fargo Arena, Drake University and the Iowa State Fair.

It’s my second time staying here and the experience was unique, very pleasant and comfortable; I truly recommend it, it’s very clean and the price is very reasonable.

The facility was great, the pool and hot tub were excellent, and the breakfast was decent. The staff were fantastic! A wedding that night didn’t disturb anything. I wish the room had two queens instead of two fulls.

The outdoor theme and location were nice. There was a fair amount of noise from the guests directly above us, so the soundproofing wasn’t great.
