The location was perfect, the owner was very welcoming and helpful—when I lost my wallet he coordinated with the local police to retrieve it—breakfast was nice, and bike rentals were available; however, the sound insulation typical of traditional Japanese buildings isn’t great, so if you’re a light sleeper bring ear plugs to make the stay perfect.

It’s a good bang for your buck if you’re just looking for a place to sleep, and the host is very friendly and kind.

It was a superb experience; the owner was extremely friendly and his sweet potato dishes were wonderful.

The simple breakfast featuring sweet potatoes was healthy and tasty, though it might be a bit underwhelming for men; the host’s small attentions were appreciated, and as a solo female guest I found no inconvenience.
