“Eenvoudig hotel met netjes verzorgde kamers langs weg van op loopafstand gelegen Vaals naar Aachen”
A solid spot right off the road between Vaals and Aachen, with the centre of Vaals only a short walk away (about 1.5‑2 km). A few hundred metres there’s a grocery (HIT Sütterlin) and a good Balkan eatery (Restaurant Schneeberg). Free parking is available along the main road. Checking in was a breeze thanks to a key box. We only met the owner—or perhaps a staff member—a friendly man when we checked out. Our rooms were spacious with comfortable beds, the décor tidy, and both the room and bathroom well kept. The linens and towels felt fresh. Even though the hotel sits on a busy road, the rooms stayed quiet, including the Saturday‑to‑Sunday night we were there. The TV had enough channels, though we barely watched it. We stayed at Hotel Paseo to catch the 2026 Amstel Gold Race for men’s and women’s elite, but the location is also great for cyclists who want to ride around. The hotel is straightforward, without any unnecessary frills. For breakfast on Sunday we went to the bakery (Bäckerei MOSS) inside the nearby supermarket; you can sit there and the pastries and coffee were superb. If we return for the 2027 Amstel Gold Race, we’ll definitely book here again.
