Located a ten‑minute walk from Alishan Railway Station, Dafong Hotel in Zhongzheng offers free Wi‑Fi, private parking and easy access to nearby Taiwanese eateries. Rooms feature air‑conditioning, heating, flat‑screen cable TV, electric kettle, telephone, and en‑suite bathrooms with shower, toiletries and hairdryer. Guests enjoy a shared lounge with self‑service tea, a tour desk for travel arrangements, and complimentary luggage storage.

I found the place pretty decent—clean and well‑situated. The exchange rate in Alishan is a bit low, but I think this is among the best you can get without paying a steep price. They offer a few tours through the hotel. I paid NTD 300 for a one‑hour late checkout, but nothing more. The downside was the many rules and fee warnings (for example, if the toilet clogs you have to pay), which felt a bit unpleasant.

It was a simple overnight spot in Alishan National Park. The room for four people was very cramped, the bathroom was damp, and water leaked from the shower into the room.

The front‑desk staff were great, answering any pre‑departure questions quickly. The environment felt new and very clean, and the bathroom was spacious and bright.
